Elegoo Neptune 4 build volume and fit check
The Neptune 4 has a nominal 225 × 225 × 265 mm build volume. The 265 mm Z height is generous for a bed-slinger, while the 225 mm square plate is close to an Ender 3 footprint. It is a good machine for tall prototypes, but the moving bed and open frame still reward a conservative orientation.

Model-specific limits
- The bed moves in Y, so tall parts can sway during fast moves. The checker measures dimensions, not print stability.
- A 225 mm plate leaves little space for a brim or purge line at the edge; add clearance when using the full footprint.
- The open frame is best suited to PLA and PETG. ABS/ASA need an enclosure and controlled cooling.
What fits
The 265 mm Z height is useful for vertical housings, brackets and test stands that would be too tall on a 220 mm machine.
The 225 mm square plate handles most functional prints, with a familiar bed-slinger workflow.
Split a long fixture across the plate or rotate it to use the 265 mm height; the fit result shows the best axis order.
Orientation tips
- Use a 5 mm XY clearance near 225 mm; a skirt or brim can push a marginal part over the edge.
- For tall parts, slow down the outer wall and add a wider base rather than trusting a dimensional fit alone.
- Confirm the exact Neptune 4 revision in the slicer; profiles and usable areas can change between variants.
