Format conversion/Mesh ↔ mesh
GLB to OBJ converter (local)
Convert a GLB scene to indexed OBJ locally. The Worker reads the glTF JSON and BIN chunks, applies the node hierarchy, merges triangle primitives, and downloads the OBJ without uploading the file.
Conversion
No uploadReady to convert
The input is streamed in 4 MiB slices; the output is assembled in the Worker and downloaded locally.

Drop a GLB here
The glTF 2.0 binary container is read in the Worker; nodes, transforms, and triangle primitives are merged locally.

No upload · File.slice() → Worker → chunked OBJ output.
How it works
- 1
Drop a GLB file.
- 2
The Worker reads the GLB JSON and BIN chunks and walks the scene nodes.
- 3
Node transforms are applied and triangle primitives are merged into one indexed mesh.
- 4
Download the OBJ locally. No upload is performed.
What the numbers mean
glTF coordinates are conventionally metres. The converter preserves the source values without rescaling; confirm the unit in your target tool.
The OBJ contains positions, one default group, and triangle faces. GLB materials, textures, colors, normals, skins, and morph targets are not written.
Printing notes
- OBJ shares vertices and is often smaller than the equivalent STL for the same scene.
- All GLB meshes and node instances are merged into one OBJ group.
- Verify scale and orientation before printing.
