GLB to STL converter (local)

Convert a glTF 2.0 binary GLB to binary STL locally in your browser. The Worker reads the JSON and BIN chunks, applies node transforms, merges triangle primitives, and writes the STL download without uploading the model.

Drop a GLB here

The glTF 2.0 binary container is read in the Worker; nodes, transforms, and triangle primitives are merged locally.

Max file size: 500 MB · No upload

No upload · File.slice() → Worker → chunked STL output.

How it works

  1. 1

    Drop a GLB file.

  2. 2

The Worker reads the GLB container, glTF JSON, node hierarchy, and BIN accessors.

  3. 3

Triangle primitives are merged into one indexed mesh and the binary STL writer computes face normals.

  4. 4

Download the binary STL locally. No upload is performed.

What the numbers mean

Units

glTF conventionally uses metres, but the converter preserves the source coordinates without rescaling. Confirm the unit in your slicer; a 1-unit GLB stays 1 unit in the STL.

Attributes

Node translations, rotations, and scales are applied. Only triangle positions and indices are used; materials, textures, colors, skins, morph targets, and Draco compression are not carried over.

Printing notes

  • Check the converted bounds and unit scale before slicing; glTF scenes often use metres while STL slicers assume millimetres.
  • Multiple meshes and node instances are merged into one STL mesh.
  • Keep the original GLB until the STL is verified.
