Print readiness/Checks

Batch printability check (local)

Check a queue of models for printability in one pass. Drop up to 30 STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF, GLB or glTF files, optionally compare each one with a printer build volume, and get a per-file topology, wall-thickness and bed-fit summary. Every file is parsed sequentially in a Worker in this tab; nothing is uploaded.

Drop models to check

Add up to 30 STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF, GLB or glTF files; .gltf files need their .bin companions. Files are checked one at a time in this tab.

Checks run sequentially in a Worker; run again after changing settings. You can cancel the current file.

How it works

  1. 1

Add up to 30 mesh files. A .gltf can be selected together with its .bin companions.

  2. 2

Choose a target printer for bed-fit results, or leave the printer unset to check geometry only.

  3. 3

Keep model units on Auto for per-file defaults (metres for glTF/GLB, millimetres for other formats), or force one unit for the whole batch.

  4. 4

Set an optional thin-wall threshold and XY clearance.

  5. 5

Run the checks; files are processed one at a time with progress and cancellation.

  6. 6

Review the per-file topology, minimum wall, thin-wall area and bed-fit verdict, then download a CSV or PDF summary.

What the numbers mean

Topology

Manifold and watertight are reported from the same welded half-edge analysis used by the single-file checks. Files above the topology cap show not computed instead of a guessed result.

wall

Minimum and mean wall values come from one inward ray per triangle. Thin-wall area is the surface area below the chosen threshold. Models above 200,000 triangles skip wall analysis.

bed

Bed fit compares the scaled bounding box with all six axis-aligned orientations and removes the XY clearance from the usable area. It is a dimensional check, not a support or auto-placement recommendation.

Units

STL, OBJ, PLY and 3MF are treated as millimetres by default; glTF and GLB use metres because the format declares metres. Auto mode applies that default per file, while a forced unit applies to every file.

status

A completed row means the geometry analysis finished. It is not a slicer validation or a certification. Confirm the profile and supports in the slicer before production.

Export

CSV contains one row per finished file. The PDF is generated locally from the same rows and is intended as a printable triage summary.

Printing notes

  • Use the batch result to triage a folder, then open the individual printability report for any file that needs detail.
  • A file that fails topology or wall checks will not become printable just because the bed-fit column says Fits.
  • Fix units in the CAD export when an entire batch is 10×, 25.4× or 1000× off; forcing a unit can mask the real source problem.
  • For production approvals, keep the slicer preview and the material profile alongside this summary.
